"You can travel by boat up the rivers that flow into the lake or trek on the jungle trails looking for the wildlife. On your travels you can stay at Iban longhouses and sample their traditional way of life."

Iban longhouses and wild Orang Utans are among the many attractions of this park on the bank of a 24-sq km lake. The natural lake is known for its rich inhabitants in the surrounding area.

It may be Sarawak in the wild, but you can see it all in the lap of luxury while staying at the unique and prize-winning Hilton Batang Ai Longhouse Resort, a Hilton hotel in the jungle. The resort occupies a 20-hectare site on the shore of a spectacular mountain lake.

You can travel by boat up the rivers that flow into the lake or trek on the jungle trails looking for the wildlife. On your travels you can stay at Iban longhouses and sample their traditional way of life.

Through a co-operative, the local Ibans have a direct say in how the park is run. They earn money by operating boat services, providing accommodation, working as guides and selling their distinctive handicrafts.

The resort is a few hours drive from Kuching and the Kuching International Airport is easily accessible via local tour operators and by cars.
