"A favourite among locals, this tall, cool waterfall with its pristine recreational forests and good jungle tracks, is just one of the many attractions of Kota Tinggi." |
Cascading down some 34 metres from the 634-metre mountain called Gunung Muntahak, the mist shrouds the surrounding area with a refreshing coolness with a temperature drop of about 3 degrees in the morning. You can spend a night here in the spacious chalets of Kota Tinggi Waterfalls Resort, the jungle sounds and birds’ tweeters will receive you in an enlivening fashion. Setting out to explore the vicinity, there are signboards to caution you from making any head-down plunges into the pools while the constructed fibre-glass slides entwined the course of the stream. Almost like a water-themed park, the corresponding stretch of rapid water had been channelled to whisk bathers seeking adventure, down the slide with a huge inflatable tube. Definitely for the thrill-seekers but the upper pools where the cascades flow are left untouched.
Burger and drink stalls lined the bank of the river where the resort sits while a café built to accommodate romancing couples who want to enjoy a meal and watch the rush of the rapids on the rocks.
