Covering an area of 25ha site, MARDI Langkawi Agrotechnology Park is located by a panoramic Gunung Raya hillside tropical forest adjacent to Lubuk Semilang recreation centre, the biggest water catchments area in Langkawi. It takes 20 minutes travelling by road, which is 12km away from Kuah Town and 15 minutes or 9km from Langkawi International Airport. The park, consisting 20 over species of seasonal and non-seasonal fruit trees and controlled environment vegetable farm (hydroponics and fertigation) are part of a high technology systems being introduced at the park. Additionally, an 8ha undisturbed natural tropical forest becomes one of the tourist attractions to the park.
Within the available package charges, visitors are guided to tour around the orchard and vegetables farm, and for those who are interested could have a chance to participate and experience the daily farming activities. Visitors will also enjoy the exotic taste of Malaysian tropical fruits buffet being served at the fruit corner and have the opportunity to buy the products. The preserved natural tropical forest with 1.2km jungle trekking offers an unforgettable experience for the visitors to see the beauty and richness of flora and fauna surrounding. Others may want to enjoy camping, fishing, barbeque and other recreational activities.
