Kuala Lumpur, 6 May – The Excellent Service Award is an annual programme organised by every government ministries and boards. It is a form of appreciation given by the Government to its employees who have exceeded expectations in their duties or gone beyond the normal responsibilities of the job.
During the monthly Ministry of Tourism meeting in Malaysian Tourism Centre in Jalan Ampang, 98 government servants were awarded for excellent contribution in their profession. Tourism Minister, Dato' Seri Azalina Othman Said presented the awards to the 31 recipients from Ministry of Tourism and 67 of Tourism Malaysia. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Datuk Dr Victor Wee who was also present at the ceremony praised the staffs for particularly making Visit Malaysia Year 2007 a big success.
In the addressing speech Azalina said the biggest challenge to upgrade the work quality is to have a balanced element in terms of emotional and health. “The challenges in work are getting higher and we have to get ready to face new elements of the future,” she said before congratulating the award winners. “Work is a real reflection to our personality,” she concluded in her closing speech.
