Kuala Lumpur, May 15 – Malaysian Film Industry has something to be proud of as the much sought-after movie The Red Kebaya will be screened at Marche’ Du Film in Cannes for two consecutive days starting May 19.

The Red Kebaya is a tale about an orphaned photographer and his journey of self-discovery. Directed by Olivier Knott, the RM2.5 million bilingual film stars are Vanidah Imran, Samantha Schubert, Fauziah Nawi, Zahim Albakri, Sabera Shaik and British actor, Bob Mercer.

The screening of the independently-produced film in Cannes was made possible by Magnepix LLC., the Los Angeles-based film distributor, which acquired the distribution rights last month.

The Producer of L'Agenda Production Ramli Hassan, added that despite the lukewarm response it received at the local box-office two years ago, the film had been well-received internationally.

The film is currently being distributed by Accent Film in Australia and New Zealand.
