Countryside & Batu Caves Tour
( Rural Landmarks and Handicrafts )
A Trip to the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, along the ‘Ambassador Row’, Istana Sharif Ali ( Palace of Sharif Ali ) and the Malay Villages. Our first stop will be at the Royal Selangor Pewter, which features the largest and most modern pewter factory in the world. Known - internationally, for its high quality in pewter products and craftsmanship. You will be shown the different processes, such as casting, filing, polishing, soldering, hammering and engraving of the Pewters, during this factory tour. Next, we will stop at a Batik Factory – see how Batik is designed and printed. Out last stop will be at the limestone hills of Batu Caves, that comprises of three caverns and several smaller caves. It is the shrine of Lord Murugah, a Hindu deity – a flight of 272 steps leads up to the temple cave. In another cave, called the Museum Cave, it is filled with images of deities and murals depicting scenes from the Hindu scriptures.
Tours are conducted by air-conditioned tour coaches or van (free seating basis), and fully escorted by licensed English speaking tourist guides. We pick-up and drop-off at selected hotels only, and within Kuala Lumpur city limits.
